Interbase 7.1


1. When running SETUP.EXE, click the "Run" button when you see the warning saying that "The publisher could not be verified."

2. When the "User Account Control" dialog appears, select the "Allow" option.

3. During the install, always enter a number greater than 1 for Number of Users.


CompuCrete


1. When running SETUP.EXE, click the "Run" button when you see the warning saying that "The publisher could not be verified."

2. When the "User Account Control" dialog appears, select the "Allow" option.

3. After clicking OK on the CompuCrete License dialog, you will see a "Windows Security Alert" dialog saying that the Windows firewall has blocked the CompuCrete Application Server. Click the "Unblock" button.

4. You will see a "User Account Control" dialog. Click Continue.

5. Be certain to put an IP address in the Server Name box on the Server Connection Parameters dialog. You cannot leave this blank!


CompuCrete Web Update


1. The very first time you do a Web Update on Vista, you will get an error dialog after restarting CompuCrete to install the update. ("Could not execute the following OS command (Error Code=740)...") Windows will then popup a message that says "Windows has applied a Program Compatibility fix".

2. Start CompuCrete, you will see the "User Account Control" dialog. Click "Allow". The update will install, but when CompuCrete restarts you will see the Product Activation dialog. Click "Cancel".

3. Start CompuCrete, and you will get the Login dialog.


General


1. In Vista, every user is a "standard" user by default, even administrators.

2. Files under "C:\Program Files" cannot be changed by standard users.

3. To edit a text file located under "C:\Program Files", click Start->All Programs->Accessories, then RIGHT-click Notepad and select "Run as administrator."
